Learn to Curl

When: Sun., Jan. 18, 3:30-5:30 p.m. and Sun., Jan. 25, 3:30-5:30 p.m. 2015

Everything I know about curling I learned from Dena Rosenberry's Twitter page (@djrosenberry). The Gazette's director of presentation is actually tweeting curling links as I write this, since, beyond fanship, Rosenberry competes across the U.S. Through no fault of her own, I've retained: Curling involves sliding a round thing with a handle on a sheet of ice, and things that look like brooms doing what looks like sweeping. You'll learn more at the Colorado Sports Center (16240 Old Denver Highway, Monument, coloradocurling.org), as the Broadmoor Curling Club will host a 3:30 p.m. "Learn to Curl" clinic. Tickets are $30 per person, $50 per couple, and don't include a social-media account. — Bryce Crawford

Price: Individual, $30; couple, $50; family, $70; military, $25
