Lady Lamb

When: Wed., Aug. 26 2015

Aly Spaltro was clerking in a DVD store — and making uncompromisingly loud experimental music in its basement after hours — when the teenager woke up one morning to find the words "Lady Lamb the Beekeeper" written in her bedside diary. Although she had no memory of writing them, the Maine native figured they'd make a catchy nom de plume for the independent CD she was about to release. Spaltro has since broadened her sonic palette, shrunken her name to Lady Lamb and released her first album for the Mom + Pop label, which is also home to Courtney Barnett. Currently, she's touring with Swedish singer-songwriter The Tallest Man on Earth, and you can catch both of them this evening at the Ogden Theatre (935 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, ogdentheatre.com). Showtime is 8, tickets are $30, 16-plus. — Bill Forman
