Kristin Diable coming to Pueblo and Colorado Springs

With vocals as sultry as the weather in her native Baton Rouge, Kristin Diable’s music suggests a Southern version of Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval or a more-than-one-octave version of Lana del Rey. Diable’s 2015 sophomore album Create Your Own Mythology — which found its way onto the year-end Best Of lists compiled by NPR and American Songwriter Magazine — was co-produced by Dave Cobb of Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell fame. She has also released a moving rendition of J.J. Cale’s “Magnolia” that’s right up there with definitive covers by Poco and Lee Fields. (Proceeds from the single will benefit the New Orleans Roots of Music education and mentorship program.) It’s unlikely that we’ll see Diable play such an intimate venue again anytime soon, so don’t sleep on this one.
