’s three drive-thrus. New Center Point is newest, with Eighth Street following this original location. The spot’s choice roaster has changed to Spanish Peaks since our last visit; they serve an organic espresso blend, but staff can’t say what beans compose it. No matter; there’s little nuance left once butterscotch and hazelnut flavorings enter my Hopscotch latte ($4.15/16-ounce); it’s perfect ordered half-sweet, nutty in a smooth milky body. Much sweeter, my chai latte ($3.95/16-ounce) gains richness and complementary coconut essence from a 75-cent-extra coconut milk sub, plus a small coffee offset with a single espresso shot (50 cents more) to make it dirty. We skip the whipped cream top on both drinks, though I almost regret that on the chai, as it tastes distinctly gingerbread-like. That cookie association makes me think an airy creamy cap would elevate the already guilty-good experience.
