Kali Creates Fate

When: Sat., March 5, 8 p.m. 2016

Black Box Theatre has not built its audience on a bill full of avant-garde art theater, but every rule has its exception. They've brought in Denver-based Transition Theater for a one-night-only performance of the touring show Kali Creates Fate. Described as a transcendental opera, the show will explore spirituality and consciousness through dance, live music, live painting and multimedia video projection. The story follows the division of the divine Ardhanarishvara, the incarnations of Sati and Parvati, and the wrath of Kali. If those names sound unfamiliar, hey, it's a learning opportunity too. 8 p.m., 1367 Pecan St., $20-$25, 330-1798, — Griffin Swartzell

Price: $20-$25
