"Jesus and Family Values: What the Gospels Really Say"

When: Fri., June 19, 7:30 p.m. 2009

Tonight's lecture, "Jesus and Family Values: What the Gospels Really Say" is no reason to panic. Be cool: The presenter, Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, is a professor at Vanderbilt University Divinity School, a renowned religion scholar and the author or editor of many books, including the 14 — 14! — volumes of Feminist Companions to the New Testament and Early Christian Writings. Levine also describes herself as a "Yankee Jewish feminist who teaches in a predominantly Protestant divinity school in the buckle of the Bible Belt." That's impressive, no matter where you lean. The free event starts at 7:30 at Colorado College's Shove Memorial Chapel (1010 N. Nevada Ave., fcucc.org). — Edie Adelstein
