Charming restaurateur Paul Lastrella has quite a bit of draw. Last October, he opened Jei Sushi and quickly saw familiar faces at his tables.

“I do have a lot of my regulars who used to come to Sushi Ring II,” he says. “They followed me here, up north.”

Lastrella sold his stake in Sushi Ring some time ago, but the way he runs his new digs cleaves pretty close to past success. The restaurant, named for his son, is run by the Lastrella family, plus a few familiar faces who followed when he moved north. All-you-can-eat prices haven’t changed — it’s about $22 at lunch or $28 at dinner, including appetizers and dessert.

“I still have similar rolls I had at Sushi Ring, and I made some rolls you won’t see at other sushi places,” he says. Mostly it’s just bigger.
