Do you consider yourself lucky? Pretty lucky. But not when I gamble.
What's the difference between gambling and playing the stock market?Slots are purely random luck. Poker involves a little more skill and psychology. But with the stock market, you can make more of an informed decision.
If you were given $500 to gamble, how would you do it?I'd learn how to play blackjack or poker. There's skill involved there, not just pure chance.

What's your view of Cripple Creek? I like the way it was before the gambling came in, when it was just the [Imperial Players] melodrama and antique shops.
Have you gambled there? Once. All the noise and smoke was pretty gross. I didn't like the atmosphere.
Would a new mining and history museum make you visit? If someone whose opinion I trusted told me it was wonderful, I might. I liked the old one they had there.
What's your best gambling experience? A fund-raiser for an historical society. I lost $25 and quit, and considered it a donation. What the heck.
Do you consider yourself lucky? Yeah. Where I live and what I have is pretty lucky.
Have you gambled in Cripple Creek? Oh yeah. I'm not much of a gambler when I run out of money, I quit. But it was fun.
Would you go there for any other reason? Sightseeing, maybe.
Would a new museum draw you there? It would. I liked the mining museum we have here up the road near Gleneagle. It's kind of fascinating.
What's your best gambling experience? An afternoon and evening in [Deadwood, S.D.]. I made a day of it, got pretty drunk and broke even. Didn't cost me a dime.
If you had $500 to gamble with, how would you do it? I'd go to Cripple Creek, try a little blackjack, maybe a little roulette, and definitely the slots.
