Betty Beedy and her jihad got tossed aside like rag dolls in last week's local Republican primary, and nobody was more vocal about his pleasure than her colleague, County Commission chairman Ed Jones. On election night, Jones delightedly delivered his tumor excise reference to anyone who would listen. It was a stunning defeat for Beedy, who blamed the media for her loss to dentist Tom Huffman despite one of the lowest voter turnouts ever.
Yes, we admit we reported Beedy's comments about sluts, her unwavering position debasing Martin Luther King, Jr., her stupid normal white American statement on national television, how she spent gobs of taxpayer dough on trips to Hawaii, and even her boycott of the Crested Butte ski area because it hosts an unofficial ski naked day.
Yes, we admit it; it's our fault.
What do you think about Betty Beedy being gone? [I'm] glad she's gone.
What about her post-election claims that the media made up stories about her? She was her own worst enemy. She should have kept her mouth shut; she should never have been elected in the first place.
Why didn't you vote? She wasn't in my district.

What do you think about Betty Beedy being gone? I think that the way it was done, [the] slant from the press, was probably the worst thing about it. If it had been an even keel: fine. But I saw a lot of bias in the press, and they wanted her out and consequently the people with the money and the press -- they speak.
What kind of job should she get now? She should be going into one of the religious communities. She would do quite well in there; she carries a lot of baggage because of some of the things she's said, but that's probably where she should go and she'd do the most good.
Why didn't you vote? I did.

What do you think about Betty Beedy being gone? I actually don't think it's a loss.
What about her post-election claims that the media made up stories about her? I think that it's a democratic society and ... it's her word against theirs.
Why didn't you vote? Because I wasn't interested. I live up in Teller County.
What do you think about Betty Beedy being gone? I'm happy; I didn't think that she was quite the woman for the job. A lot of her policies were really kind of out there.
What about her post-election claims that the media made up stories about her? I think that to some extent that might be true, but they couldn't formulate a total lie. They'd have to base it off some truth.
What kind of job should she get now? One of the people that drives the street cleaners.
Why didn't you vote? I'm underage.
