Earth Day may lack Fourth of July flash, and it's not an excuse to chow down, party hearty, or even get a day off. It does, though, offer a much-needed occasion for us to remember that Mother Earth is mortal, deserves our respect and protection, and could use a good massage now and then.

What have you done in the past year to help Mother Nature? For one, I encouraged everyone I know to vote for Al Gore. Also, my husband and I use solar assist methods to heat our house and water. We're tying to turn off the lights and be careful about the amount of water we use. Also, we recycle everything we can and drop it off every week or so at collection centers.

What have you done in the past year to help Mother Nature? I have to admit, not a lot, other than recycling newspapers, plastic, bottles and aluminum cans.
What will you do to celebrate Earth Day? Maybe I'll try to talk my office into doing some recycling.
