IQ: Read on, Garth!

Reading ain't easy. Even when reading the most thin, lighthearted novel, my imagination is challenged by the fact that the scenery isn't popping up in front of me on a TV screen -- my brain has to do it all. And reading a work of art is even more difficult because it forces reflection and analytical thinking. To paraphrase the great American humorist Mark Twain, "Classics are things that everybody wants to have read, but that nobody wants to read." Now that the light of summer is fading, I personally challenge you (and myself) to defy all of our modern casual comforts, put away those Saturday night-on-the-town clothes, and take the time to hang out with a good book.
