Introduction to Backyard Beekeeping

When: Sat., Feb. 13, 10-11 a.m. 2016

Neurotic gardeners are like Chuck Norris; they don't sleep, they wait. Like right now, they're scheming over springtime tasks, just as soon as the ground warms enough. Maybe you're meant to be one of them. Start by upping your yard cred today at one of two concurrent skill shares. A Pikes Peak Beekeepers Association member will present an "Introduction to Backyard Beekeeping" at Phelan Gardens, while master gardeners will offer a Seed Starting Workshop at the Colorado State University Extension Office, the cost of which includes a take-home seed tray. 10 to 11 a.m., 4955 Austin Bluffs Pkwy., free, phelangardens.com; 10 a.m. to noon, 17 N. Spruce St., $30, elpasoco.colostate.edu. — Matthew Schniper
