Art Exhibits

When: April 12-May 24 2014

In 2009, Denver's William Havu Gallery celebrated 25 years of working with renowned Colorado artist Tony Ortega, whose work deftly identified the lives of Latinos living in the United States. As Dr. George Rivera put it, "Ortega calms our xenophobia." Today, Ortega is showing with an exhibit he juried for the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center (210 N. Santa Fe Ave., Pueblo,, $3-$4) devoted to the same topic. See it today, along with other exhibits covering the Chicano experience, or hit up Sangre's free public reception from 2 to 5 p.m., on Saturday, April 26. — Edie Adelstein
