- The Tejon Street Corner Thieves make a hometown appearance Sept. 16 at the Black Sheep.
umanity could clearly use some positive impact, in the wake of the destruction wrought by not only Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, but also other disasters taking place around the world.
To that end, a number of local musicians have been rallying to provide assistance.
Among them is local “trashgrass” act Tejon Street Corner Thieves, who recently performed at the Tennessee-based Muddy Roots Festival and were able to squeeze in a show at the Austin, Texas, venue the Carousel Lounge to help benefit the victims of Harvey. The band’s tour route brings them back to their hometown for the Sept. 16 release of their new EP, Goers, at the Black Sheep. Joining them are their tourmates, the Castle Rock-based Saddle of Southern Darkness, along with Uncle Jake & The 18 Wheel Gang.
Meanwhile, Sunshine Studios is holding their own benefit show on Sept. 16, also to assist those affected by Harvey, with all audience donations going to the American Red Cross. Performers at the all-day affair will include He Kill 3, The Endless Line, Fall From Silence, Region 5, Iridium, Yresim, Mass Transit, Elevated Sickness, Facing Forward, Dylan Holcomb, Rikki Dee Hall & The Voodoo Hawks, and more.
