Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Johnny Depp may not be giving up their day jobs anytime soon, but their nocturnal cover band Hollywood Vampires will be out playing a handful of dates to whet appetites for their forthcoming sophomore album Rise.
The new collection finds the superstar trio, who borrowed their name from a decades-old L.A. Guns album, digging up the hits of famous junkies, including Johnny Thunders’ “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory,” The Jim Carroll Band’s “People Who Died” and David Bowie’s “Heroes.” The band’s recent European tour also featured renditions of Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” Alice’s “I’m 18” and Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion.”
For those who lost their hard-rock heroes to heroin, this show may be your best shot at easing the pain.
