Heritage Lecture: "Artistic Reflections of Mining Structures"

The Western Museum of Mining & Industry (225 North Gate Blvd., wmmi.org) will kick off its new exhibit, Artistic Reflections of Mining Structures, and its Heritage Lecture Series with a reception at 6 tonight. The sketches and paintings are part of the WMMI collection and have never before been displayed. The lecture, by metallurgical engineer Robert Phillips, starts at 7 and focuses on the museum's Nordberg Steam Stamp, which spent its working days in upper Michigan's Copper Belt.
