Haunted Mines

When: Oct. 7-Nov. 1 2011

Any haunted house that says its hours run from "dusk to die" is clearly not effing around, and the Haunted Mines (225 Northgate Blvd., hauntedmines.org) is just such a house. Located at the Western Museum of Mining and Industry — and technically opening at 7 tonight, though earlier arrival is recommended — the Mines take you indoor, outdoor and underground, all for $15. Otherwise, do the indoor Rocky Mountain Haunt Fest (3910 Palmer Park Blvd., rockymountainhauntfest.com), where its Ghouls Gulch and Delirium Haunted House ($15 for one, $25 for both) scare people "because they deserve it" and are powered by "creatures that can show up on time, work weekends, and have a love of Halloween." — Bryce Crawford

Price: $15-$20
