Harlem Globetrotters

When: Thu., March 10 2016

It's a big year for the Harlem Globetrotters — they're celebrating their 90th and "most epic" world tour. (To set the tone for the rest of this blurb, imagine the iconic HGT theme song playing in the background.) Now, this isn't the same comedic, trick-shot-driven smack down of the Washington Generals you remember from the past several decades. It's a comedic, trick-shot-driven smack down of the New York Nationals, the Globetrotters' rebranded token opponent. But don't be mistaken; these are real basketball games. And the Globetrotters don't have an unblemished record, though losses come very, very rarely. Take this fun fact with you to tonight's game: NBA Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain and Magic Johnson both donned the Globetrotter stripes at one time, as did Olympic gold medalist Lynette Woodard and baseball great Bob Gibson. 7 p.m., Broadmoor World Arena, 3185 Venetucci Blvd., $19.50-121.50, — Craig Lemley
