Likewise, a striptease is all about the intangibles, as pioneered by burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee, whose tumultuous life became even more legendary when the classic Broadway musical Gypsy was created from her memoirs. The Colorado Springs Conservatory will stage its rendition at 7 tonight and through the weekend at UCCS' Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater (3955 Regent Circle, The cast features Conservatory executive director Linda Weise as mother Rose, Peaks and Pasties leader Lindzey Martucci as Tessie Tura, and community members including City Council President Scott Hente and longtime business leader Jon Medved. (You'll have to attend to see which roles they play.) Direction comes via Billie McBride, who performed Gypsy with acting legend Angela Lansbury. Tickets are $8 to $10. — Edie Adelstein
