Russ Ware and Yemi Mobolade, owners of Wild Goose Meeting House (401 N. Tejon St., wildgoosemeetinghouse.com), will be opening a new neighborhood café concept in the Patty Jewett neighborhood, dubbed Good Neighbors Meeting House (505 E. Columbia St., goodneighborsmeetinghouse.com). The spot will replace the long-standing Dogtooth Coffee Company, which closed in late April.
"It kinda came to us," says Ware. The building owners approached him and Mobolade, seeking a new tenant in anticipation of Dogtooth closing. Ware says it made too much sense to pass it up.
Owing to the neighborhood location, Good Neighbors will likely open and close earlier than the Goose, ditching late-night live music and adding a breakfast menu, plus smoothies and expanded ice cream offerings for a more "daytime-oriented," family-friendly vibe. Customers can still expect beer, wine and third-wave coffee. They hope to open as soon as early August.
