Which nonprofits are the most prominent in the Springs? The soup kitchen, Interfaith Hospitality Network that's great. You have the Salvation Army Shelter, which is great; you have the Mission, which is great.
How have you been affected by local nonprofits? All of the ones I've mentioned, I've received help from.
Should nonprofits pay taxes? No. When I was in the military, I didn't have to pay taxes when I bought things on base. So why should a nonprofit organization have to pay taxes when they're helping the country just as much as someone in the military?

Which nonprofits are the most prominent in the Springs? The Humane Society, probably church groups, Focus on the Family, maybe.
How does Focus on the Family affect the local community? A lot of people are way against it and other people are way for it, so it separates the really religious people from the not-so-much. It kind of makes the town Christian when you look at it as a whole, from the outside.
How about the United States Olympic Committee? I think it's cool, but I'm an athlete. We've had people come to our school and speak, and it's pretty neat.
Which local nonprofits do you support? I got my cat from the Humane Society, and I worked at the soup kitchen.
How does Focus on the Family affect the local community? Having a large church presence, with Focus on the Family probably sort of like the leader of it all, it tends to make the town conservative. But on the other hand, it promotes family values, and there's nothing wrong with a conservative environment when you're trying to raise a family.
How about the United States Olympic Committee? It probably helps the economy. Not only does it employ Colorado Springs residents, but you have people coming in from out of town for an event, or staying there.
Which local nonprofits do you support? In terms of making donations, none. Well, except for church.
How does Focus on the Family affect the local community? They're a good, positive organization for the community. They're a very moral organization with some good ideas, and I think they have a good outlook on the community and the community does the same for them.
How about the United States Olympic Committee? They're great for the area. Probably real good for tourism and it's nice to have them here, centrally located in the United States. Proud to have them here.
Have you received help from any nonprofits? Not now, but as a child, yes. It was an organization called the Junior Police, way back, and they were a good role model and helped young kids that might have got in trouble.
