How are gas prices impacting you? I don't drive all that much. I live close to work and mostly ride my BMW motorcycle in summer.
Are we being gouged? A big deal is being made about $10 billion profits last quarter, but when you look at how much the oil companies make per gallon, it's not all that much. Taxes gouge us more than oil companies.
Why aren't people more upset? There's a glut of cash out there.[Chairman Ben] Bernanke and the Federal Reserve are dumping money on the economy.
What's your favorite summer day trip? Circle up through Cripple Creek, Caon City and back.
Are gas prices changing your driving habits? We try to be more efficient and accomplish several tasks each time out, rather than make multiple trips.
Is the gouge on? They're making obscene profits. Prices go up at times of highest demand, like in summer, and it's not connected to supply.
Why aren't people sounding off? There's the feeling that we can't do anything about it. It's like the weather: You take what you get because there's no way to change it.
Where do you day trip in summer? Today, we're going to the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur. Next week, we're going to the Highland Games in Highlands Ranch.

Are we being gouged? We just got back from Scotland, and our gas prices are infinitesimal in comparison. In fact, I question if the oil companies are making astronomical profits. Can you offer any proof of that? They take a lot of risks, after all.

Have gas prices altered your driving? I'm trying to group my errands.
Are oil companies gouging us? Yes, in that they're making astronomical profits. But no, in that Americans are spoiled. Most countries pay a lot more than we do. But I'd like to see oil companies required to channel more profits into alternative energy research.
Why aren't people raising hell? Low-income people are, but the middle class and rich aren't. You'd think they would. They apparently think it wouldn't make any difference.
Where do you day trip in summer? Mount Princeton, for hiking.
Where in Colorado do you want to go for the first time? Crestone. It's supposed to be a very metaphysical place.
