From Cherry Blossoms to Snow Gardens

When: Feb. 22-March 8 2013

If the names Hokusai, Hiroshige, Kuniyoshi and Kunisada mean anything to you, I have good news: Artwork from these masters of Japanese woodblock prints are now on display in Boulder, by way of the CU Art Museum (1085 18th St.,, which holds the pieces in its permanent collection. This is unusual, given that geographic location often determines a museum's holdings and we couldn't be farther from Japan. However, that doesn't mean From Cherry Blossoms to Snow Gardens: The Floating World of Japanese Prints will be up for long, just through March 23. So whether or not you're much of fan, know that like all things ukiyo-e, this exhibit is just passing through. No fee, suggested donation of $5. — Edie Adelstein
