Flash Cadillac New Year's Eve Dance Party

When: Thu., Dec. 31, 10 p.m. 2009

So you're still undecided about how to ring in the new year, and you don't mind some nostalgia. Many locals have followed Flash Cadillac through the years, and if you haven't, now's a good time to start with the band's New Year's Eve Dance Party at Stargazers Theatre (10 S. Parkside Drive, 476-2200). The $35 admission includes sandwiches, snacks and desserts, with a cash bar available. Doors open at 8 p.m., with a moving video (trust me, I've seen it) at 9 highlighting Flash's 40-year history (American Graffiti, Happy Days, Apocalypse Now, etc.) and music starting at 10. The group still is pounding out classic oldies from the 1950s to the '70s, with a "back-to-the-future" twist: Dwight Bement, the superb saxophonist who was a Flash fixture for more than three decades before departing in 2003, is back in the band. — Ralph Routon

Price: $35
