The former sees three tacos full of steak bites, simply seasoned with onions and tomatoes, plated with super-smooth beans, rice, cabbage slaw, and pico de gallo. The meat’s good, and the veg adds some interest, but it needs a skosh more to brighten the bite — maybe a lime wedge? The chile relleno Jarocho (that is, the Veracruz-style chile relleno) comes stuffed with baby shrimp, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions, served under tomatillo salsa, sour cream and guac. Creamy guac and mildly sweet shrimp dominate the flavors, and it chews a bit mushy and indistinct.
