The El Paso County Sheriff's Office announced on Oct. 10 it had completed a shift to a new records management system that cost $940,555. The conversion has spanned at least a year and included upgrading IT within the department as well as mobile data computers used by deputies in their vehicles. The upgrade enables the Sheriff's Office to share information with others who use the system, including the Colorado Springs Police Department and the Fountain Police Department. In addition, crime analysts will be able to provide a more complete picture of crime trends across the county, the office said in a release.
