Moreno, who also owns 3 Margaritas on Powers Boulevard, says "It's pretty much family working over here. I've got my son, my daughter, cousins and nephews." Chef Ruben Moreno, who's been in kitchens for 18 years, is also his cousin. And while bar manager Saul Sanz sin't related, he's worked with Moreno since 1998 and is considered family; he's in charge of stocking a variety of higher-end tequilas.
Don Tequila's menu comes mostly form Jaliscoan cuisine. Moreno has also commissioned (though January) chef Jorge Garcia, formerly of La Plata in Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco, to help with food prep and quality control.
