Diana Ross has undeniably earned her place in the pantheon of legendary hit-makers. Her ’60s Motown group The Supremes scored a record-setting 12 No. 1 singles, while her subsequent success has placed her among the greatest female solo artists of all time.

And now, after celebrating her 75th birthday on this year’s Grammy telecast, she is on a national tour that has featured as many as nine costume changes in a single concert, enough to give both Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga a run for their money. Granted, Ross sports a more limited wardrobe at non-festival performances, but audiences can still expect nearly two dozen exquisitely performed pop-soul classics.

Recent concert set-lists have included the Supremes’ “Stop! In the Name of Love,” “Come See About Me,” “You Can’t Hurry Love” and “Love Child,” as well as solo hits like “Touch Me in the Morning,” “Take Me Higher” and “I’m Coming Out.” And while she’s been singing these songs for decades, Ross is clearly not just going through the motions. “It was a career retrospective delivered with breathless joy, a blinding smile, an ocean of hair, and five seamless costume changes,” raved music critic Chris Rose. “But the greatest joy was watching the crowd. I was looking away from the stage as often as at it. And it was a sea of brotherhood, of sisterhood, of community. A dancefest. A hugfest. A lovefest.”

Colorado fans can expect much the same experience at the singer’s Red Rocks show. Given her extraordinary legacy, how could it be otherwise?
