Corrosion of Conformity

When: Mon., Nov. 23 2015

Heavy metal history lesson: After helping to lead the Great Metal/Hardcore Feud to armistice with 1985's Animosity, North Carolina metal masters Corrosion of Conformity hired guitarist and eventual singer Pepper Keenan, and shifted into a groovier style more in touch with metal's bluesy roots. That led to the smoky 1994 album Deliverance. After a few years away, Keenan is back in the band with founders Woody Weatherman, Mike Dean and Reed Mullin, and they're celebrating Deliverance at Denver's Summit Music Hall (1902 Blake St., thesummitmusichall.com). Doors open at 7, and $15 to $18 gets you the CoC classic lineup, plus Brant Bjork and the Low Desert Punk Band, Saviours, and Mothership. — Griffin Swartzell
