Colorado Springs Street Breakfast

When: Wed., June 22, 5:30-9 a.m. 2011

I'm not a morning person, but even I will saddle up with the sunrise to eat at the 51st annual Colorado Springs Street Breakfast. Toss on a pair of Wranglers and come to the corner of Tejon Street and Pikes Peak Avenue to help kick off the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Days. Fort Carson soldiers and volunteers begin serving the most important meal of the day at 5:30; the $5 breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, milk, juice and coffee. All proceeds from the breakfast go to benefit military charities. Bonus: At about 8, you can watch 160 riders take off on a five-day "Range Ride." — Jenny Rackl
