The Colorado Springs Airport is rebounding. In April, 59,263 passengers passed through the airport, a rise of 21.2 percent from a year ago, a release states. Frontier Airlines returned to the airport in April 2016 and added 69 more flights this April. Other airlines showed modest growth: United Airlines, increase of 5.2 percent; Alaska Airlines, 5 percent jump, and American Airlines, up by 2.8 percent. "With new Frontier flights starting next month to Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO), we expect to see this growth trend continue," Director of Aviation Greg Phillips said in a release.
