"Colorado Days"

When: July 30-Aug. 3 2013

Gentlemen, stimulate your follicles. The Colorado Grown Urban Fair isn't limiting itself to horticulture for this year's free Colorado Day celebration of all things local. The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (215 S. Tejon St., kicks it off with a Facial Hair Contest in commemoration of the original Pikes Peak Whisker Club. After all, nothing's more local than your upper lip. For less hirsute attendees, there's plenty to see, eat, drink and otherwise enjoy that isn't attached to somebody's face. Booths, activities and historical games open at 2, or bring your family down for the 5 p.m. concert with the Fort Carson 4th Infantry Division Band. — Caroline Swinford
