Circus of the Night

When: Fridays, Saturdays, 9 p.m. Continues through June 25 2016

Let me just start by saying: This ain't your kids' circus. The Millibo Art Theatre's Circus of the Night is a yearly hit with the late-night crowd, parting the curtain on flashy burlesque performances, enchanting aerial silk acrobatics, and banging vocals from some of the area's best singers. If you've never seen acrobat Super Dave Hale do four high-flying back flips — wearing nothing but jumping stilts and striped spanks, no less — and if you've never seen Mam'selle Hepzibah's breathtaking fan dance, then you've got to catch this show. If you have seen those performances before, you're in luck, since both veteran and new-to-the-MAT performers are bringing brand-new routines to the stage, all with a "retro science fiction" theme, according to Ringmaster Jim Jackson. He and the scandalous Babette Matdiva will host the evening, and that alone is worth the ticket price. 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through June 25, 1626 S. Tejon St., $25 per ticket, ages 18 and older, — Alissa Smith

Price: $25
