- Black Christmas (NR) - - - Dimension - - Based on the 1974 cult film of the same name, this - yuletide remake is the antithesis of everything that is - good and pure about the Xmas season. Billy, skin tainted - yellow from a liver defect, is holed up in an insane - asylum after he literally made Christmas cookies - out of his mom. Billy sits and broods until the 15th - anniversary of the murders, which, wouldn't you know it, - is tonight! Meanwhile, at the Alpha Kappa sorority house - which used to be Billy's old digs the stereotypical, - easy-to-kill, spoiled brats get offed one by one, in a - variety of wonderfully seasonal manners. All that's - missing from this gift is the bow. Black Christmas is the perfect antidote to all the feel-good treacle - dished out that time every year. Ho ho ho! - Louis Fowler

Tom Goes to the Mayor: The - Complete Series (NR) - - - Cartoon Network/Turner Home Ent. - - - Fans of alternative comedy have long lamented the loss - of its flagship TV series, Mr. Show. No show - keeps that anarchic, bizarre humor alive better than Tim - and Eric's Tom Goes to the Mayor, one of the - funniest shows, animated or not, to be broadcast on TV. - The plot is simple: Perpetually put-upon and forever - dumbfounded everyman Tom Peters moves to Jefferton - with his new, slovenly wife and her three kids. Ever the - entrepreneur, Tom, each week, has a new idea to make - him and his town some money. But he always needs the - help of the chaotically distracted mayor. It may not - sound that funny, but the inventiveness of these - schemes, which never pan out, is all the sell you need. - Louis Fowler

National Lampoon's Pucked (R) - - - Sony Pictures - - Another lame National Lampoon movie straight to - DVD, of course. And, if that weren't bad enough, it stars - Jon Bon Jovi as a below-normal-intelligence douchebag - who, after receiving a credit card in the mail, decides to - finance his dream of owning an all-female hockey team. - I can believe I just wrote that. I can't believe I just - watched that. Of course, all the lowbrow humor - you'd expect is here: hockey pucks to the nuts, sexy - hockey girls baring their boobs, dick and fart jokes - I'm sure you know the routine by now. As far as other - recent NL titles go (Pledge This, Gold Diggers, Dorm - Daze 2) it's not the worst, but, really, that's just like - saying that it's the best case of diarrhea you've ever had. - No matter what, you're in for a crappy time. - Louis Fowler
