Camelot

When: Mon., Nov. 9, 8 p.m. 2009

Where I'm from, Camelot refers to the Kennedys. According to scholars, John F. Kennedy loved the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, which came out around the time of his 1960 presidential election. Shortly after his assassination three years later, in a soon-to-be-famous Life magazine interview, Jackie Kennedy quoted from one of its songs: "Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot." Call it a historical mash-up. At 8 tonight, King Arthur, Lancelot and Queen Guenevere reclaim the story for a single show at the Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center (210 N. Santa Fe Ave., Pueblo, sdc-arts.org). Tickets run from $15 to $40. — Kirk Woundy
