- Bustang was welcomed with open arms.
Colorado Department of Transportation's first venture into interregional public transportation — a bus system called Bustang — is celebrating its one-year anniversary. And it's a happy one.
Bustang exceeded projected ridership by close to 15,000 passengers, welcoming its 100,000th rider on June 24. It also beat projected overall revenues by 36 percent.
"Historically, it takes about a year to build ridership within a new transportation system," CDOT executive Mark Imhoff stated in a release. "Even knowing this, we set the bar high. ... Exceeding these initial projections speaks not only to public demand but to the quality experience Bustang offers its passengers."
Bustang takes riders between Fort Collins and Denver, Colorado Springs and Denver, and Glenwood Springs and Denver.
