Bringing Down a Dictator

When: Thu., April 29, 6-10 p.m. 2010

Everyone likes a good "triumph of nonviolent conflict over tyranny," except maybe for tyrants, whose feelings really don't count all that much. So even though Bringing Down a Dictator may not be the feel-good hit of the summer, this film about student revolutionaries in Slobodan Milosevic's Serbia promises moments of inspiration. In addition to the screening of the Martin Sheen-narrated documentary, this free 6 p.m. event at the Fine Arts Center (30 W. Dale St., csfineartscenter.org) will include a lecture by Srda Popovic, a student-leader-turned-member-of-parliament who's also prominently featured in the film. — Bill Forman
