- Brienne Boortz
- Brandon Lee
Style of music, in 10 words or less: "Open format, rock 'n' roll to hip hop to EDM"
Three artists he owes everything to: DJ AM, DJ Z-Trip, DJ Greg J
Debut performance: 1996
Recordings: Flippin' Friday's (2009), American Boy (2009), Music, Vol. 1 (2009), Thursday Night Takeover (live, 2009), Hoodstar Hellafied, Vol. 3 (2009), Live on KNON 89.3 Dallas, TX (2010), Fundamonium (2010), Indie Jonesin' (2011), Indie Jonesin' Vol. 2 (2012), Kangaroo (2013)
Why he matters: When it comes to dance music, Colorado Springs is obviously no London, Miami or Denver. Touring turntablists do stop in town to perform at Rawkus or, more occasionally, the Subterranean, but we mostly look to local club deejays for clues as to what's happening in the electronic dance world at large. Which is where DJ Brandon Lee comes in. When not scouring Beatport for new EDM tracks, he's working crowds at Tejon Street clubs and private events. But wherever he's spinning, the former frustrated guitarist and continually omnivorous music fan will likely be slipping some Led Zeppelin and Motown into the mix.
