Bob Dylan

When: Wed., Oct. 21 2009

It's been one interesting year for Bob Dylan, from the police picking him up for vagrancy in a New Jersey suburb to the announcement of a Christmas album featuring nasal renditions of "Little Drummer Boy" and "Here Comes Santa Claus." There were even reports on National Public Radio and the Huffington Post about Dylan negotiating to be the voice of a GPS navigation system, which, to the relief of commuters everywhere, turned out not to be true. But that often inscrutable vocalizing is hardly in short supply: Dylan tours constantly and his stylistic turn toward blues, folk and even ragtime has brought renewed critical and commercial adoration. (His 33rd album was released in April and debuted at No. 1.) Yes, he's still a legend, and you can catch him at 7:30 tonight in the relatively intimate Magness Arena (2240 E. Buchtel Blvd., Denver, for a recession-friendly $49.50 to $59.50 ticket price. — Bill Forman
