Blues, Blues

Big Bill Morganfield

When: Fri., Aug. 12, 8 p.m. 2016

Two weeks ago, we had Shemekia Copeland, daughter of Texas bluesman Johnny Copeland, playing Blues Under the Bridge. Last week, we had Sean Lennon, son of John and Yoko, playing the Vertex Festival. And this week, we have Big Bill Morganfield, son of the legendary Muddy Waters, playing Stargazers. Like Sean Lennon, Morganfield didn't get to spend much time with his dad but clearly spent a lot of time listening to his records. Expect plenty of Chicago-blues-style originals with the occasional Muddy Waters song slipped into the mix. 8 p.m., 10 S. Parkside Drive, $15/advance, $20/door, 476-2200, stargazerstheatre.com. — Bill Forman

Price: $15-$20
