Gertrude's Balsamic Vinaigrette
2625 W. Colorado Ave., 471-0887
A dinner salad, is a dinner salad, is a dinner salad; except at Gertrude's, where it's an anticipated course. It's not so much the greens in the bowl that make this house salad so special. They could use dandelions and crabgrass, and it would be OK, as long as the house dressing is involved. Because the dressing is what makes Gertrude's salad not just another salad. Balsamic and beautiful. Guaranteed, you'll eat every last green in your bowl, and if you're lucky, you'll have enough dressing left over to soak up with your bread. And if the dinner salad doesn't supply enough greens in the bowl to satisfy your dressing needs, try the house salad or the spinach salad. Bigger bowls. All the better to hold more of Chef Robert's yummy dressing. Available for take out in bottles. (SB)
