It’s been three years since we first lost our cool over Banh Mi Viet’s authentic sandwiches
, and while other businesses have come and gone in the less-than-happening shopping center Banh Mi Viet
inhabits, they’ve remained. We’d bet it’s because of consistent quality and affordability — sandwiches still run $3.95 a pop.
We get a #2 and a #6, the roast pork and chicken pineapple banh mi. The former is savory bliss in every bite, porky perfection with lovely vegetables. And the latter adds a strong play between sweet and sour, fruity but not so much so that it ceases to be savory. We wrap it up with dessert, in the form of boba tea ($3) — one green tea and one Thai iced tea, both packed with tapioca balls and topped with whipped cream. Those who are into frappés will no doubt be pleased — expect a sound execution. They’re nice enough drinks, and we’ll certainly be back for more sandwiches, as the price and quality here continue to be nigh unbeatable.
