Autism in Love

When: Thu., Dec. 17, 7-9 p.m. 2015

Winning the Neapolitan Award at the Naples International Film Festival, as Autism in Love did last month, was confirmation not only of first-time director Matt Fuller's filmmaking skills, but also of the generosity of spirit that merits an award reserved for works that embody "charity, generosity and community." This new documentary takes on a largely unexplored subject — dating and romantic relationships among autistic adults — and does so with a sensitivity that's winning over audiences as it makes the festival circuit rounds. Autism in Love will air nationally on PBS in January, but you can get the full cinematic experience this evening at a free 7 p.m. screening in the Tim Gill Center for Public Media (315 E. Costilla St., timgillcenter.org). — Bill Forman
