Open Tues.-Sat., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The BAC's Hagnauer Gallery consistently has held some of the most interesting and creative art shows in the region. The most recent is Embellished, a collection of antique, vintage and contemporary beadwork from around the world. Of special interest are beaded garments, jewelry and dcor from private collections, as well as 35 pieces on loan from The Bead Museum in Glendale, Ariz. Runs through March 4.

"We're trying a new approach with this format," says artistic director Tom McElroy. Gallery of Contemporary Art at UCCS, 1420 Austin Bluffs Pkwy., 262-3567. The gallery's Arctic-white walls and exhibition spaces are hung with intricately designed, beautifully made quilts, exploding in swirling, riotous color. A visitor can only marvel at the extraordinary craftsmanship and artistic imagination that animates every work on display in On the Wall. Runs through March 17.

Rubbish, 17B Bijou St. Tired of the same, stinky old rubbish? Then check out the brand new Rubbish, an art gallery opening downtown. Though it's located across from 15C, in the alley, this creative space promises to host more than the usual alley scrap.
