Celebrity glitz, swarming paparazzi, herds of limos, bolted-in smiles, puddles of diamonds, perfect teeth, plunging necklines and bare backs...

Is it the awards or the clothes and glitz that most interest you on Oscar night? I have little interest in celebrity, who’s wearing what, or whom is with whom.

Describe what you’d wear if you were up for an award. The most expensive tuxedo I could afford. It would be classic, in the mode of Cary Grant.

If you made a movie of your life, what would it be called and who’d play you? It’d be called Life and How to Live It, and I’d choose David Alan Grier to play me so people would think I’m funny, even though I’m not.

How closely do you follow the Oscars? I’m aware of them and I love movies, but I don’t get out much these days, so it’s hard to keep up. There’s nothing I’m rooting for this time.

Do you have a favorite Oscar moment? The opening montages back when Billy Crystal was hosting were lots of fun.

If you were up for an award, what would you wear? Something long, classy and very red.

They’re making a movie of your life. What’s it called and who’s playing you? It’d be called The Long Way Around and Gillian Anderson would play me.

How closely do you follow the Oscars? There was a time when I got into it, but it’s been a few years.

Do you watch the Oscars more for the awards or for the glamour and clothes? Absolutely for the glamour and clothes.

What would you wear if you were up for an award? I just got this lavender paisley blazer that goes perfectly with lavender pants and a lavender vest that I already had. It would be remarkably cool.

If a movie were made of your life, what would it be called and who’d play you? I have a remarkable life story. I was in a car accident eight years ago, and I was killed. I’m either alive now or I’m in heaven. I’d be played by Jack Nicholson and it would be called Divine Intervention.
