wins, it’s growing like kudzu; the fourth orange-pink-white Amy’s Donuts
opened in Washington state at the start of November, and they’ve announced a fifth in New Mexico, for 2019, joining extant locations in Ohio and Arizona. We put together a pick-your-own half-dozen ($10). The blueberry old fashioned pops with fruity flavor, an easy favorite. Season-appropriate, the pumpkin donut balances essences of actual pumpkin pie and a candy-sweet Yankee candle deftly — that’s a compliment. We enjoy the faint cinnamon traces in the delightful Nutella crumb donut, as well. And we’re glad we go for the childhood indulgence of a Reese’s Puffs donut, frosted with chocolate and dipped in the cereal to order for maximum freshness. Vanilla frosting holds pistachios for a pleasant, refined pistachio donut. And, lastly, the orange Creamsicle donut tastes aggressively sugary and artificial, though admittedly a dead ringer for the frozen treat.
