"America and the World in a New Election Year"

When: Mon., Jan. 25, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. 2016

Having rounded the corner into a new year, the 2016 presidential election is in sharper focus than ever. But with the road to November cluttered by mudslinging, fearmongering and partisan theatrics, what lies ahead may seem a confusing and scary prospect. If that sounds like where your head is, you'll find good company today at the Antlers Hotel. Hear The Atlantic's Washington editor Steve Clemons give his take on the year ahead — for citizens, the nation, and the messy world we're trying to dominate. "America and the World in a New Election Year" will be presented by the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council, with support from Wells Fargo, Tiemens Foundation and the Pikes Peak Library District. 11:30 a.m., 4 S. Cascade Ave., $35 for members, $55 for non-members; lunch included, reservations at csworldaffairs.org. — Nat Stein

Price: $35-$50
