All People's Breakfast

When: Mon., Jan. 16 2012

If you've never heard Rosemary Harris Lytle speak, you're missing something. Given a subject that the local NAACP president cares about, she'll give you as much fire, passion and magnetism as you can handle — and then some. This morning, as the nation shares in Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Rosemary will have the microphone all to herself at the All People's Breakfast, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., in Colorado College's Cornerstone Arts Center (825 N. Cascade Ave., tickets $7 at the door). Her topic will be "King's Legacy: Ending Mass Incarceration in America," and as if that weren't enough, the Colorado Springs Gospel Music Workshop of America will put everyone in the right mood. For information or reservations, contact Steve at dynamic@ppjpc.org. Attendees also are urged to bring books in good condition for state prisoners in Cañon City. — Ralph Routon
