Alison Krauss & Union Station, feat. Jerry Douglas

When: Sun., July 27 2014

Alison Krauss' collaborations with Robert Plant have clearly raised her profile, just as they've brought the former Led Zeppelin frontman renewed artistic relevance. Paper Airplane, her 14th album, was released in 2011 and went to No. 1 on the country and bluegrass charts. It also reached No. 3 on the pop chart, making it one of the most impressive crossover successes so far this decade. Expect Krauss and her band Union Station to be no less impressive tonight at the Pikes Peak Center (190 S. Cascade Ave., pikespeakcenter.com). It also won't hurt that her band features Dobro master Jerry Douglas, who's won 13 Grammys and contributed to hundreds of albums by artists like Ray Charles, Elvis Costello and Mumford & Sons. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. with tickets starting at $59.50. Bill Forman
