Bare-Knuckle Poetry's open mike night commences Tuesday, March 16 at The Underground, 110 N. Nevada, from 8 to 11 p.m. Poets are invited to come and read or just listen. The evening includes a trivia contest and a group poem. Call 477-1028 for more.

Authors Dave Wann and Dan Chiras will discuss their new book Superbia: 31 Ways to Create Sustainable Neighborhoods on Tuesday, March 16, at 5:30 p.m., at The Chinook Bookshop, 210 N. Tejon St. Wann is co-author of Affluenza: The All-Consuming Epidemic, and Chiras, an adjunct professor at Colorado College, has authored many books. Superbia is a book of practical ideas for creating more socially, economically and environmentally sustainable neighborhoods.

Spoken word artist Kenn Rodriguez of Albuquerque brings his show to The Underground, 110 N. Nevada Ave., on Tuesday, March 23, from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Rodriguez has been featured at many national poetry events. Admission is $5. Call 573-6820 for more.

Hungarian-English poet, translator and author of An English Apocalypse and The Budapest File, George Szirtes, comes to Colorado College to read from his work on Monday, March 29, at 7 p.m. The reading is in McHugh Commons on the CC campus, 1090 N. Cascade Ave. Call 389-6606 for specifics.
